yn PCIN-4 is a type of selsyn, short for self-synchronous motor. It is a brushless, synchronous AC electric motor, often referred to as a synchronous generator or synchro for short. Essentially, it is an AC generator with a pre-programmed magnetic field, so when the armature or rotor rotates it produces AC voltage with a phase angle that is proportional to the rate of rotation. This makes it ideal for use in applications such as "position feedback systems". An example of this would be industrial robotic arms, which require accurate positioning feedback. The PCIN-4 model is designed with a rugged construction to provide good performance and reliability in a cost-effective solution.
